Meet Lisa

Hi, I’m Lisa,

Creative arts therapy practitioner aka big believer in the healing power of meaning-making, creativity, and supportive relationships. Pow pow!

If you have found yourself drawn to my website, thanks for visiting.

I wonder what you might be searching for here.. ?

Are you looking for a space to unwind creatively? A place to be completely yourself and learn more about how to connect to your creativity and purpose? A place to find out who you are amongst all the chaos of a life well lived? If so…

Welcome to my services - Transpersonal Art Therapy & Creative support work / mentoring for those who know Trauma

My path into this work has been both professional and personal. I’ve lived through crisis & recovery journeys, identity rebuilding, and navigating systems that don’t always understand complex experiences. These lived experiences shape how I work: gently, respectfully, and without pathologising people’s stories.

Professionally, I bring together trauma-informed practice, expressive arts, psychosocial disability support, neurodiversity frameworks, and counselling-informed relational skills. Personally, I bring curiosity, humour, compassion, and a love of creative exploration.

My work is especially supportive for adults navigating:

Trauma and complex stress - Creative blocks after crisis - Identity rebuilding and meaning-making - Entrepreneurship

And yes — creativity is always optional here.

My background & scope of practice

I have worked in a range of community‑based roles including disability employment services, supported accommodation, youth mental health consultation, and creative wellbeing programs. I have held supervision and mentoring roles supporting people with psychosocial disability to build confidence, participation, and pathways into community and work.

Since 2018, I have been the owner of Lisa Bow Art Therapy where I facilitated creative, reflective, and recovery‑oriented sessions & online groups for adults and young people navigating trauma, mental health challenges, neurodivergence, and complex life transitions. I have worked with numerous participants of the National Disability & Insurance Scheme since 2020 and supported their creative and personal goals offering online and in person sessions as Art Therapist and Creative arts support worker.

My work is led by:

  • Trauma‑informed and counselling‑informed practice

  • Lived‑experience and peer ethics

  • Disability and neurodiversity frameworks

  • Expressive and somatic arts processes

  • Those who have come before me, many authors, creatives & lived experience educators whom I admire and learn from.

Scope of Practice:

My services are non‑clinical supports focused on wellbeing, recovery, identity, creativity, and community participation.

I provide: - Transpersonal Art Therapy (non‑clinical) - Lived‑experience mentoring and peer recovery support - Creative arts wellbeing sessions and groups - Capacity‑building support aligned with NDIS goals

I do not: - Provide crisis or emergency services

I work collaboratively alongside support coordinators & allied health practitioners where relevant.

All offerings are grounded in informed consent, participant choice, trauma‑aware pacing, and neurodivergent‑affirming practice.
