Art Therapy & Counselling

Hello and welcome!

Thanks for visiting and taking time to view my services.

This may be the first time you have explored Art Therapy and you may wonder about it’s ability to support you or someone you know. I am here to offer a service which caters to those who are sensitive in nature and would like a a gentle approach to counseling. I aim to create a safe space where we weave together creative practices to support your mental health. It’s a space where you can land fully into yourself, be present and begin wherever you are. It allows the mind to take a well deserved break and lets you drop into the sensory world of symbols, images and perhaps your dreams. Allowing your hands to create what may be within and then applying some meaning making to the process. It can be quite calming and soothing to the senses.

Please click here for a simple description of art therapy & it’s therapeutic outcomes.

My approach:

I aim to engage your emotional & mental health which may invite the sensory realm to play & insights can be found and shared. There is absolutely no need for artistic ability as the aim is around inner work and not the outcome being art as such. That doesn’t mean you won’t create something nice, however the intention is to allow for self expression & self awareness to be appreciated & shared. I work from a humanistic and person centered approach and can incorporate the transpersonal world if that is of interest. This may include making imagery about dreams, creating rituals to support life transitions and mask making.

In art therapy there are many tools you can choose to bring into our sessions such as:

Clay // Drawing // Mixed Media // Collage // Watercolors // Photography // Painting // Poetry // Dream work // Movement & beyond.
